The 5board team will be sporting a stylish 10x20 booth at the world's largest surf show in Orlando this week. We will be unveiling the ONLY iphone application that has all 5 board sports! Chicks dig us

Get ready for the first and only iPhone / mobile app. that will encompass FIVE board sports. You will be able to find spots to shred, shops to blow dough, inform your peeps and check conditions. The 5boards app is also your mobile profile allowing you to upload pics, videos and itching that spot that needs itchin.

We have come along way in the last five years and we have HUGE plans for the future to include functions and features that will rock and slide the board industry into the next ionosphere. Also we are talking with NASA to build a spacship to go moon surfing.... more about that later.

Action sports all stars...

Today at the X-Games in California, Kelly Slater was awarded the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year trophy for the second time, edging out fellow stars such Stephanie Gilmore and Shaun White. The awards, which are normally presented at a gala ball in Europe, have been scaled back this year due to the global financial crisis, and interestingly the Laureus World Sport Academy chose the ESPN backed X-Games as the venue to present Slats with his gong. (The Laureus statuette, exclusively produced by Cartier, contains 670 grams of solid silver with 650 grams of gold finish). Laureus legend Tony Hawk presented Slater with his glittering prize. Hawk, one of 46 legends who get to vote on the awards alongside the media, decided Slater, in becoming surfing’s oldest ever world champ, had done more than enough to earn the title. White won the people’s choice award.

"To be recognized by this group of athletes is amazing and something I'm happy to carry with me throughout my lifetime," Slater said.

Other global winners included Jamaican fastest-man-on-earth Usain Bolt, Sportsman of the Year, and the Chinese Olympic team, World Team of the Year.
